Unless you do not use the internet (if that’s the case I do not know how you are reading this) you probably have seen or heard about Lady Gaga’s amazing performance at the superbowl.
Oh wait.. no.. you probably heard more about her outfit at the super bowl and her "rolls"…
Now, I have about 540,0248,0944 comments and complaints about this whole thing and while I could spew them all over you in a rambly paragraph post, I am going to bullet them below. You’re welcome.
1. WHO CARES?!
Her performance was outstanding. Her voice was flawless, while dancing in a way that would leave most of just weezing and lying in a puddle of sweat. But no, she sang as she danced, she played piano, & she straight up killed it. She is such a massive talent that so many people have ignored because of her outlandish style choices. This was a surprise to most people that she was not just a pop star in a meat dress, but a gifted performer. That really is all that should have mattered.
2. To the people calling her fat, you’re the actual worst.
I do not think I need to explain this here but she was wearing tight bottoms right across her midsection. Ladies, you feel me, we do not do that. You want to create a fat roll? Wear something that cuts right across your lower belly.
If she had been wearing something loose fitting, we all would have been calling her "too skinny" I mean seriously…. enough said. I mean… look at her. Shut up.
3.Those of you saying "I love how she’s not afraid to be average or curvy", you are the second worst.
Okay, maybe not the worst, but not the best. Lady Gaga’s body is NOT average. At the Super Bowl, I’m guessing she had 15% body fat, MAYBE. The average woman has a body fat of 22-25%. Her body is not a maintainable goal for most women. To classify this as average is just incorrect and irresponsible. Those are not curves.
4. Lady Gaga has been open about her past with eating disorders
The fact that she has as little body fat as she has is crazy. When you put your body through that kind of starvation and stress, your body holds onto fat like it is its job. (Which it is storing that fat for protection, so technically it is its job.) Hopefully people’s insensitivity does not affect her at this point, but I cannot imagine it is enjoyable to hear people dissect your body when you do enough of that yourself.
So You GO, Lady Gaga! Keep singing, keep dancing, and keep reminding us we are perfect "because God makes no mistakes." You have made a little monster out of me!
